Recommended Hardware for high-bandwidth (10-100Gbps) capture

I’m working on an IDS project and am spec’ing out hardware for a Snort/Suricata bake-off that will handle at least 10Gbps and preferrably up to 100Gbps.

I know Napatech supports both Snort and Suricata, and I’m interested in using the FPGA SmartNIC’s with it, but I want to make sure I’ve properly provisioned the server to handle the load.

What’s a good hardware configuration (CPU’s. RAM, Disk, etc.)  to handle the kinds of speeds I’m needing?
